Beyond and Back Again

Something struck me today and I decided to resurrect my blog. I have missed blogging. I stopped almost 2 years ago and am not quite sure why. I believe it was because I found Facebook and started putting my oh-so-worthy news on there. I have missed blogging and the actual act of writing down my thoughts, experiences, etc. I admit I love reading others blogs. I do find myself often comparing mine to theirs and I have vowed to NOT do that anymore and just enjoy them for what they are and mine for what it is.

So today I woke early to see Meaghan get off to High School for her first day back. And by first day back - I mean - really first day back in a LONG time. Meaghan has been home schooled since she was in 3rd grade so this is her first time in the public school setting in a while.

While helping her do her hair (yes, I STILL help her do her hair!) I noticed (out the window - yes, creeper - I know!) the neighbors on their front porch. They were having their son pose with his back pack while they took lots of photos. I thought how cute that was and told Meg to get ready because I wanted to do the same thing in a few minutes!! They can never be too old for silly mom antics and photos next to the lovely tree in the front yard right? No they cannot and I know that because my neighbor's son is starting his Senior year of High School today!

Mom it is too sunny - I cannot open my eyes.

I cannot believe my mom is making me take these photos but at least I am not blinded by that sun anymore.

"Turn so I can see your back pack." Geez mom....

"Now, hold your backpack in your hands." Seriously mom????

how cute that the last blog post was of Meg's 13th birthday! It seems like just yesterday!! So excited and nervous for her! HUGS! I think you should blog more on your thought and feelings about her going to school. I know I'd love to hear your thoughts even though I may not need them for a few years ;)

Poor Meg, being traumatized on her first day of school, by her Momma. Good luck Meaghan, I hope to see you do flags at some point.

I think it's great that you took her first day of high school photo. I have first day of school pictures for both of my kids every year. For Jason, we even took a last day of high school photo. This year since he is going to community college, the first day of college picture, is a picture of him in the car getting ready to drive to college.
